Following medical school, she completed postgraduate residency training in Dermatology at Bapunagar General Hospital, Gujarat University before relocating to the United States.

She later conducted research in radiation oncology at the Cleveland Clinic before completing her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident in 1999.

After moving to Charlotte County in 2000, Dr. Patel became one of the founding physicians at the Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic, caring for veterans with complex medical conditions for nearly 13 years.

In 2013, she joined Cardiology and Vascular Care Center, where she continues providing comprehensive primary care to patients throughout Port Charlotte and the surrounding communities.
